Dr. Paul L. Silcox

Dr.
Paul L. Silcox,
D.C., Dipl. Med. Ac.

When Dr. Silcox was a young boy he had asthma. A family friend suggested to his parents to take him to a chiropractor. At first his father was reluctant because he didn’t understand the connection between the spine and difficult breathing. But, even though the episodes were able to be relieved with medications, the episodes continued to worsen in frequency and severity. His father finally agreed there was nothing to lose. At the age of 12, after a couple months of regular adjustments, there was a significant improvement in the frequency and severity of the asthma episodes. By the time he was 16, he had set his sights on a career in chiropractic.

Dr. Silcox graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1973 and ‘With Honors’ from Life Chiropractic College in 1978. He has practiced chiropractic in Lousiana 1978 to 1981 and in Michicgan from 1981 to 1989. In 1990 he moved back to Fremont, Ohio, and had a busy practice til 2011. During his time practicing, he has consulted, examined and treated over 10,000 different patients with chiropractic care.

He started his acupuncture training from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture in 2010 and worked in Perrysburg and Bowling Green from 2011 to 2015 as he completed is training. His primary focus is providing acupuncture treatment in addition to offering chiropractic services in some cases that are deemed appropriate and it is evident that they would be complimentary to each other.

In 2015 he returned to Fremont to be close to family and to finish out the remainder of his career.

He is certified in the Neil-Asher Technique (out of Great Britain) specifically for treatment of many shoulder pain conditions. In 2014 he completed his certification to be a Certified Medical Examiner for the DOT Physicals for commercial truck drivers.

He has been active in his church and participated in 10 mission trips to Africa, Ecuador, Nicaragua to assist in the construction of over 15 different churches. He was team leader on three of those trips. In addition, in 1984 he participated in a mission’s trip to Haiti to provide chiropractic services to over a thousand people during that week. When the earthquake in Haiti occurred, he was quite concerned because he had spent nearly a week around Port au Prince.
